The Founder's Story

I didn’t start this business with a five-year plan or some grand vision of building a company across multiple cities. At the time, I had a child on the way, bills to pay, and a family to support. I simply needed to make money, and painting was the best way I knew how. Maybe it was because my father had been in the painting industry before me, or maybe it was the freedom of working for myself instead of having someone looking over my shoulder every day. Whatever the reason, I knew I enjoyed the work and the people I was doing it with. In the beginning, it was just a handful of us painting houses together—all friends from school who were looking to earn a living and enjoy a little freedom along the way. We worked hard, took pride in what we did, and honestly had a lot of fun doing it. Most days didn’t feel much like work. We spent our time on job sites, helping customers transform their homes, while building friendships and memories that still exist...

THE STORY BEHIND DAYTONA BEACH HOUSE PAINTERS

Painting has always been more than just a business to me. It’s been long days, stressful nights, learning lessons the hard way, and building something from absolutely nothing through hard work, belief, consistency, and refusing to quit when things got difficult. Daytona Beach House Painters represents the next chapter of that journey.

This company was built from years of growth through Joseph Rivers Painting and everything we created throughout Central New York. Before the trucks, before the crews, before the reviews, before the growth, before the systems, and before any of this became real — there was simply belief. Belief that we could build something bigger for ourselves and the people around us if we just kept showing up and pushing forward no matter how difficult things got. There were a lot of years where things weren’t easy. Long days. Uncertainty. Pressure. Jobs that tested us mentally and physically. But businesses don’t get built alone. They’re built during the difficult years before success ever shows up — by the people willing to stay beside you while everyone else is still trying to figure out whether the vision is real or not.

As Joseph Rivers Painting continued growing throughout Central New York, I always knew the vision would eventually become much bigger than one area. Daytona Beach and Florida’s east coast immediately stood out to me — beautiful coastal homes, growing communities, hardworking people, and an area where professionalism and craftsmanship still matter. That’s why Daytona Beach House Painters was created. Our goal is simple: bring the same professionalism, communication, craftsmanship, preparation, and customer experience that helped us grow throughout New York into Daytona Beach and the surrounding Volusia and Flagler County communities.

We specialize in interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet painting and refinishing, deck painting and staining, pressure washing, wallpaper removal, drywall repair, trim and detailed finish work, and residential and commercial painting throughout Daytona Beach and the surrounding coast. Whether we’re repainting an oceanfront home in Ormond Beach, refinishing kitchen cabinets in Port Orange, updating interiors in Palm Coast, restoring a historic home in DeLand, or transforming exteriors in New Smyrna Beach, our mission stays the same — deliver high-quality work while creating an experience homeowners actually feel good about. And on the coast, that starts with preparation built for salt air, sun, and humidity.

To me, painting has never been just about applying paint. It’s about trust. Communication. Showing up on time. Respecting someone’s home. Doing the small things right. Taking pride in preparation. Protecting floors and furniture. Fixing imperfections correctly. Sanding properly. Using quality materials. Leaving projects cleaner than we found them. Caring about the final result as much as the customer does. That culture is what built Joseph Rivers Painting throughout Central New York in places like Skaneateles, Fayetteville, Manlius, Cazenovia, Ithaca, Cortland, Homer, Auburn, Syracuse, Norwich, Binghamton, and the surrounding communities. And now we’re bringing that same mindset into Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, Palm Coast, New Smyrna Beach, Flagler Beach, Ponce Inlet, Daytona Beach Shores, DeLand, Deltona, South Daytona, Holly Hill, and communities all across Volusia and Flagler counties.

People see the finished projects, the trucks, the growth, the reviews, and the social media posts — but they don’t always see the sacrifice behind it. The long summers. The freezing winters. The early mornings. The late nights. The pressure of trying to build something bigger than yourself while making sure everyone around you continues moving forward too. I’ll never forget the people who helped carry that weight with me — the crew who stayed loyal through every stage, and my family, who held things together at home while I poured myself into building this company. So while Daytona Beach House Painters may look like the next expansion from the outside, to me it represents something much deeper. It represents years of sacrifice, loyalty, belief, friendship, leadership, growth, family, and people coming together to build something meaningful from the ground up. And this isn’t the end of the road either — it’s only the beginning.
